You’ve found your Type. You’ve read about your Strategy. You understand, on some level, what your design is asking of you. And still, something isn’t shifting. The patterns continue. The decisions still feel hard. Your body is still stuck.

Human Design is one of the most precise maps I have ever encountered for understanding how a person is wired: how their energy moves, where they absorb the world too deeply, and what kind of decisions their body is actually built to make.

But a map is not the territory.

And this is where most people get stuck: they understand their design intellectually, but they continue living from their conditioning. Not because they aren’t trying. Because understanding alone cannot reach the places where conditioning lives. It lives in the body, in the nervous system, in patterns laid down long before there were words for any of it.

Yoga has known this for thousands of years. The Sanskrit word samskaras refers to the impressions left in the body and mind by past experiences, the grooves worn deep by repetition that shape how we move, react, and relate without conscious choice. Human Design names these grooves with extraordinary precision. But as any experienced yoga practitioner discovers, seeing the pattern and releasing it are two different practices entirely.

This is where transpersonal therapy begins.

What Human Design Reveals

Before I work with anyone, I look at their chart. Not to define them (Human Design is a tool, not a box) but because the chart shows me something the person often cannot yet say out loud.

It shows me where they are likely absorbing energies that are not theirs. Where decisions have been made from the wrong place. Where their natural rhythm has been overridden — by conditioning, by expectation, by years of trying to function like a different Type entirely.

In Human Design, the open centres — the white, undefined areas of the chart — are the places most vulnerable to conditioning. They take in energy from the world around them, amplify it, and, without awareness, can mistake it for their own. An open Emotional Solar Plexus absorbs the emotional waves of others. An open Root Centre can spend a lifetime rushing to escape a pressure that was never its own. An open Head Centre may exhaust itself searching for answers to questions that were never really its questions to solve.

“The open centres hold the greatest potential for wisdom — and the deepest wounds from conditioning. They are where we absorb the world so completely that we forget where the world ends and we begin.”

When I look at a chart, I am not looking for what is wrong. I am looking for where the person has been living someone else’s life — and where the body has been carrying the weight of that misalignment, often for decades.

What the Chart Cannot Do

Human Design can name the conditioning. It can show you, with remarkable precision, where you have been operating from a Not-Self — making decisions from fear, from pressure, from absorbed expectations rather than from their own inner authority.

But naming is not the same as resolving.

Many people come to me already knowing their Type. They know they are a Projector who has spent years trying to keep up with Generator energy. They know they have emotional authority and should wait for clarity before deciding. They know their open Root Centre is driving their chronic sense of urgency.

They know. And they are exhausted.

Because the conditioning is not just a belief. It is a pattern held in the body — in the nervous system, in the breath, in the way decisions have been made under pressure since childhood. It has a history. Often a long one.

Where the Subconscious Work Begins

This is the threshold where Human Design and transpersonal therapy meet.

The chart shows me what has been conditioning the person. The 7-Level Process works with where that conditioning lives in the body and what it will take to actually release it.

Understanding your design is the beginning of the journey, not the destination. The destination is living it — in the body, in real decisions, in the texture of daily life. That shift does not happen through the mind alone.

It happens when the body is given space to release what it has been holding. When the patterns that were laid down early — in the family system, in inherited loyalties, in moments that left a mark — are finally met with something other than management.

That is what the subconscious work does. Not faster. Not forcefully. At the pace the nervous system can sustain.

The Unconscious Layer

One of the most powerful aspects of Human Design is that it acknowledges the unconscious personality — the red elements of the chart, the traits that are consistent but not consciously accessible. The aspects of ourselves that our families often know better than we do.

This is not metaphor. It is a recognition that we are not fully transparent to ourselves — that significant parts of how we move through the world are shaped by forces we cannot simply decide our way out of.

Transpersonal therapy works precisely here. Not by bypassing the unconscious, but by creating conditions in which it can surface — through the body, through regression work, through the careful meeting of what has been held below the level of awareness.

The chart names the territory. The body work makes the journey.

What Integration Actually Looks Like

When these two approaches work together, something specific begins to happen.

The person who has always known they are a Generator — who has understood, intellectually, that they are built to respond rather than initiate — begins to actually feel the difference in their body between a genuine gut yes and a socially conditioned yes. Not as a concept. As a sensation.

The Projector who has read everything about waiting for the invitation begins to release, in the body, the grief and frustration of years of not being seen. Not just understand it. Release it.

The Manifesting Generator who has always been told they are too much begins to find, through the body work, that their non-linear path is not a flaw to manage but an intelligence to follow.

This is what I mean by internal coherence. Not knowing your design. Living it from the inside out, from the body rather than the mind, without having to force yourself into it every single day.

A Question Worth Sitting With

You may already know your Type, your Strategy, your Authority. Take a moment with this:

Where in your body do you feel the difference between living your design and living your conditioning?

Not as a mental exercise. As a genuine inquiry. Where does the conditioning show up: as tension, as urgency, as a particular kind of exhaustion that has been with you for a long time?

That place in the body is where the real work begins.

If you are at a moment of transition, decision, or simply wanting to understand yourself more deeply, a Human Design session offers a precise map of how you are designed to move, decide, and relate. It is not a personality test. It is a reading of your energetic architecture, and it changes how you see yourself. Available as a standalone session, online.
